How much do spas cost to run?

It is impossible to give exact figures concerning running costs. The size of your energy bill will be totally dependant on how often you use the spa, the temperature you maintain it at, water capacity, location (indoor or outdoor), number of pumps in use, quality of the cover etc.

You should budget for $500 - $700 per year for running your spa including chemicals.

Be wary of retailers claiming unbelievably low running costs!

What are the key benefits of a spa?

A spa provides many benefits!

Therapy

A spa delivers the right combination of heat and massage that improves circulation, assists in relaxation and promotes well being.

Lifestyle

A spa provides an entertainment centre in your home 24 hours a day. Evidence suggests that people are working longer hours and stress levels are higher than they have ever been. A spa provides a perfect and affordable retreat from the daily stresses that can renew & revive.

Family Fun

A spa is fun for all ages. Everyone from children to grandparents can enjoy the experience. It creates the ideal setting to bring the family together for time to relax and enjoy coversation together.

Many families with teenagers are investing in a spa so that their children and friends are at home where they are safe from the modern day "social temptations".

Do spas need servicing?

Like any equipment a spa needs to be cared for.

Ensure that your spa retailer provides appropriate training and support documentation so that you are fully aware of what maintenance requirements are involved.

A regular service – like a car, is a good idea. This way you will be sure that your spa is in perfect working order.

Are all spas the same?

No – definitely not!

Like many industries, some spa manufacturers build to a price so quality of construction and equipment can be inferior. Make sure that you check out the length of time that the manufacturer & retailer have been in business along with the Warranty.

What is ozone & is it safe?

Ozone is a gas that is produced when oxygen is electrically charged. Ozone gas disinfects the spa water when it comes in contact with it.

Because the water is being disinfected it tends to be cleaner, clearer & safer.

Can I upgrade jets in the future?

Most spas have fixed jets that cannot be removed or changed. If you require extra jets in the future the spa shell will have to be drilled, the jet fitted and the plumbing has to be adjusted – difficult!

Ensure when you purchase your spa that it has the right amount of jets for current & future needs.

What happens in 5 years time?

Unfortunately many manufacturers and retailers have come and gone. You need to know that you retailer will be there to support you for the life of the spa.

Adelaide All Spas has been servicing the spa market in Australia since 1990.
